\u00a0<\/p>

\u00a0<\/strong>Yemen, once famously known as “Green Yemen,” was blessed by God with rivers and abundant rainfall. Yet, over time, Yemen has increasingly suffered from drought and reduced rainfall, compounded by excessive and imbalanced water consumption for cultivating qat and vegetables, which has led to a noticeable drop in groundwater levels. For example, traditional open-field farming in Yemen yields between 25 and 40 tons of tomatoes per hectare. In contrast, countries like China, Japan, and the United States reach yields as high as 120 tons per hectare, leaving Yemen at the bottom of the list of producing nations.<\/p>

With recent technological advances, production potential has risen to 220 tons per hectare, further widening the gap between Yemen and developed countries in this sector. As a result, our agricultural production remains limited solely to meeting local market needs, while efforts to expand exports and attract foreign currency for agricultural growth and international marketing face considerable complexities.<\/p>

Given these challenges, we must consider how to develop a generation that invests in this field and contributes to the national economy through SMEs, particularly in protected agriculture, where yield is calculated per square foot. To support this vision, the center has conducted training courses and organized field visits to ongoing projects in Sa\u2019awan, Al-Aurouq, and Bani Hushaish, addressing their needs and the challenges they face in collaboration with Sana\u2019a University. If Allah wills, we are committed to continuing research and awareness initiatives to boost production and enhance individual income, which will contribute to the growth of local agricultural output in the protected agriculture sector.<\/p>

Moreover, we are launching a project to produce hybrid seeds optimized for high yields in protected environments, where the value of 1,000 seeds is between $100 and $150. By providing training, seed production, and accessible research and guidance to increase productivity, we can contribute to the country’s agricultural progress under the name of Sana\u2019a University.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
