Master’s Degree with Distinction for Student Ali Mohammed Hussein Al-Mudhawi at the Center for Political and Strategic Studies

Student Ali Mohammed Hussein Al-Mudhawi earned a Master’s degree with distinction in Political and Strategic Studies, specializing in Diplomacy and International Relations, with a score of 95%. He defended his thesis titled ” The United Nation Stance on the Aggression Against Yemen (2015–2022)” at the Center for Political and Strategic Studies at Sana’a University on Saturday, 4/3/1446 AH, corresponding to September 7, 2024 AD.
The discussion committee consisted of Dr. Hamid Abdulghani Saif Al-Makhlafi as an external examiner and chair of the committee, Dr. Hussein Mohammed Hussein Muthar as the primary supervisor and committee member, and Dr. Ali Muthar Yahya Al-Atharbi as an internal examiner and committee member.
The research aimed to identify the role of the United Nations and its agencies in the aggression on Yemen, and the research follows the mechanism of the United Nations in its management and dealing with crises in general and the Yemeni crisis in particular. The historical method was used as one of the main methods that were relied upon, to track the historical context of the formation of the United Nations through the different stages of the development of the international system. The comparative method was also used to investigate the issue of the differences between these positions and other forms of positions in many countries, including Yemen. The descriptive analytical method was used to describe the phenomena and positions of the United Nations and its organs and analyze them.
Based on the previous results, the researcher reached several recommendations, the most important of which are: the United Nations and its agencies should seek a new strategy to deal with the parties to the conflict in Yemen without regional interference, respect international law through the United Nations and grant it authority in front of all parties to the international community without discrimination, the United Nations and the Security Council must implement the duties assigned to them and granted to them by their Charter, goals, and principles, and work to maintain international peace and security, the United Nations and its member states should make amendments to the Charter of the United Nations, even in the long term, work seriously to stop the aggression and siege on Yemen with binding resolutions and follow up on their implementation.
