Student Nabil Abdo Othman Alhalmi obtained a master’s degree with a grade of \u00a095%, with an excellent grade with honors, in political and strategic studies, specializing in diplomacy and international relations, from the Center for Political and Strategic Studies at Sana’a University, for his thesis entitled ” Immunities and privileges of diplomatic missions in the Republic of Yemen”, on Tuesday 6\/16\/1446 AH, corresponding to 12\/17\/2024 AD.<\/h4>\n

The discussion and judging committee consisted of Dr. Nabil Ali Al-Sharjabi; External examiner and head of the committee, Dr. Hussein Muhammad Hussein Mutahhar; Head Supervisor and member of the committee, and Dr. Mahyoub Hassan Radman Muhammad; Internal examiner and member of the committee.<\/h4>\n

This study analyzes the international immunities and privileges of diplomatic missions in Yemen and evaluates their practical application within the country. It examines the political and legal frameworks that govern these immunities, compares local practices to international standards and agreements, and explores how they align with diplomatic norms.<\/h4>\n

The thesis reached a number of conclusions, the most important of which are: that the accredited state Immunities begin when the diplomat enters the host country and cease upon their departure after completing their mission. Should a diplomat commit unlawful acts, they are not exempt from accountability; they may be prosecuted in their home country or in the host country if immunity is waived. The host state can also take measures against misuse of immunities, such as declaring a diplomat persona non grata or reducing the diplomatic staff, especially if there is a refusal to waive immunity.<\/h4>\n

Finally, this study will offer practical recommendations for enhancing the application of these immunities and privileges in Yemen, aiming to balance the interests of the state with the protections afforded to diplomatic missions.<\/h4>\n
