Ms. Amal Ahmed Abdullah Dalal <\/strong>was awarded a Master’s degree in Special Education <\/strong>with an average of (Excellent<\/strong>) and a grade of (95%)<\/strong> for her thesis titled: Training Challenges Faced by Teachers of Students with Visual Impairments at the Primary School level in the Capital Secretariat\u2013Sana\u2019a<\/em><\/strong>, which was submitted to the University Service Center for Students with Special Needs (USCSSN) \u2013 Sana\u2019a University. The MA defense was held on Thursday, September 11, 2025.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

The MA Viva-voce Committee, which was formed based on a resolution issued by the Graduate Studies and Scientific Research Council, consisted of the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

The study aimed to:<\/p>\n

    \n
  • Identify the instructional challenges faced by teachers of students with visual impairments at the primary school level in the Capital Secretariat\u2013Sana\u2019a.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    The study yielded several Key findings as follows:<\/p>\n

      \n
    • The overall level of teaching challenges faced by teachers of students with visual impairments was moderate. Challenges related to teaching methods, strategies, and instructional aids ranked first, followed by curriculum-related issues, then student-related challenges, assessment and testing, teacher-related factors, and finally classroom management difficulties.<\/li>\n
    • The scarcity of assistive and supportive technologies and the limited use of modern technological tools were among the most critical difficulties faced by teachers in this stage.<\/li>\n
    • There were no statistically significant differences in the level of teaching challenges attributable to gender or academic qualification.<\/li>\n
    • There were, however, statistically significant differences attributable to teaching experience in favor of teachers with 6\u201310 years of experience.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      Following the defense, the Viva-voce committee recommended the printing and exchange of the thesis with universities.<\/p>\n

      The defense session was attended by a number of academics, researchers, and individuals with visual impairments, colleagues and the researcher\u2019s family members.<\/p>\n\n
