*Sana\u2019a University Higher Committee for Scientific Research Approves Publication Incentives, Reviews Historical Study on Yemen\u2019s Health Conditions*

\nThe Higher Committee for Scientific Research at Sana’a University held its 3rd regular meeting for the 2025\u20132026 academic year on Monday, chaired by the Vice Rector for Academic Affairs and Committee Chairperson, Prof. Ibrahim Al-Muta\u2019a, in the presence of committee members.
\nAt the outset, Prof. Al-Muta\u2019a welcomed attendees and emphasized the importance of sustaining efforts to advance the university\u2019s research system and enhance the quality of its outputs in line with international academic standards, while contributing to community development.
\nDuring the meeting, the committee attended a scientific seminar delivered by researcher Ward Mansour Al-Ward, who presented key findings from his research published in the global Scopus database. The study, titled \u201cHealth Conditions in Yemen during the Mutawakkilite Era (1911\u20131962): A Historical Study of the Interplay between Traditional and Modern Medicine,\u201d was submitted as part of his application for appointment as a teaching assistant in the Faculty of Arts, Department of History.
\nThe seminar featured an in-depth academic discussion, attended by Prof. Mahmoud Al-Shaabi as the designated examiner, where participants highlighted the study\u2019s contribution to understanding historical transformations in Yemen\u2019s healthcare landscape and the interaction between traditional and modern medical practices and their societal impact.
\nThe committee commended the quality of the research, stressing the importance of encouraging historical studies that address health and social issues, given their role in enriching academic knowledge and offering analytical insights valuable to researchers and policymakers.
\nIn addition, the committee reviewed several applications submitted by faculty members for scientific publication incentives as part of the university\u2019s policy to encourage publishing in peer-reviewed and internationally indexed journals.
\nFollowing deliberations, the committee approved publication awards for five faculty members, in recognition of their research contributions and their role in enhancing the academic standing and international visibility of Sana\u2019a University.
\nAt the conclusion of the meeting, the committee reaffirmed the university leadership\u2019s commitment to supporting scientific research as a cornerstone of academic development and excellence. It also emphasized the importance of strengthening collaboration between faculties and research centers to further elevate the university\u2019s regional and international profile.<\/p>\n
