PhD Degree Awarded to Mr. Mustafa Al-Mutawakil in Business Administration

Mr. Mustafa Abdulkarim Mohammed Al-Mutawakil was awarded a PhD degree in Business Administration for his dissertation titled: The Impact of Organizational Change on the Performance of Employees through Job Satisfaction in Yemeni Telecommunications Sector, which was submitted to the Center of Business Administration – Sana’a University. The dissertation defense was held on Wednesday, November 5, 2025.
The PhD Viva-Voce Committee, which was formed based on a resolution issued by the Graduate Studies and Scientific Research Council, consisted of the following:

The study aimed to identify the impact of organizational change with its technological, structural, and human dimensions on employee performance through job satisfaction in Yemeni telecommunications sector. It also sought to assess the levels of organizational change, job satisfaction, and employee performance within the Public Telecommunications Corporation and Yemeni telecom companies: TeleYemen, Yemen Mobile, Sabafon, YOU, and Y.
The study yielded several key findings summarized as follows:
- A positive and statistically significant impact of organizational change was found on both employee performance and job satisfaction.
- Job satisfaction had a significant effect on employee performance.
- The technological change dimension showed no statistically significant effect on job satisfaction.
- The overall levels of organizational change and employee performance were relatively high, while job satisfaction was moderate, indicating the need to prioritize improving employee satisfaction to enhance performance efficiency and effectiveness in the sector.
In light of these findings, the researcher recommended the following:
- Giving greater attention to continuous and dynamic changes in human resources and organizational structures of telecom companies, in alignment with technological advancements, to ensure the integration of change processes.
- Enhancing coordination and coherence among departments to complete shared tasks on schedule and improve productivity.
- Paying more attention to salary levels, wage structures, and equitable distribution of rewards.
- Ensuring clarity and fairness in promotion criteria and performance evaluation policies within telecom companies to increase job satisfaction and achieve higher levels of efficiency and effectiveness.
The dissertation defense was attended by faculty members, researchers, students, colleagues, and the researcher’s family.
