Master’s Degree Awarded for Mr. Abdulwahed Al-Kaboudi in Pharmaceutical Chemistry

Mr. Abdulwahed Ahmed Fadhel Al-Kaboudi was awarded a Master’s degree with an average of (Excellent) and a grade of (90%) for his thesis titled “Design, Synthesis, and Evaluation of Some Pyrazole Derivatives as Anticancer Agents,” which was submitted to the Department of Pharmaceutical, Analytical, and Organic Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Faculty of Pharmacy – Sana’a University. The MA defense was held on Saturday, Dhu al-Hijjah 3, 1447 Hijri, corresponding to June 28, 2025.
The MA Viva-voce Committee, which was formed based on a resolution issued by the Post-Graduate Studies and Scientific Research Council, consisted of the following:

The thesis aimed to design, synthesize, and create new chemical compounds to act as inhibitors for colon cancer cells.
The thesis identified three compounds with significant activity against the enzyme and cells specific to colon cancer.
Given the widespread prevalence of cancer in society, the study recommends directing researchers towards developing cancer drugs. It also advises providing necessary resources for all researchers to pursue and complete research in this vital field.
The thesis was examined and recommended by the Viva-Voce Committee for acceptance and approval. The defense was attended by a number of academics, researchers, students, and interested individuals, in addition to the candidate’s colleagues and family members.
