Master’s Degree Awarded to Ms. Mariam Thabet in in Educational Management and Planning

Ms. Mariam Thabet Abdulwahab Ahmed was awarded a Master’s degree in Educational Management and Planning with a grade of (Excellent) and an average of (95%) for her thesis titled “The Performance of Public-School Principals in the Capital Secretariat (Sana’a) in Light of the Knowledge Economy,” which was submitted to Faculty of Education – Sana’a University. The defense was held on Saturday, 12/07/2025, corresponding to Muharram 17, 1447 Hijri.
The MA Viva-voce Committee, which was formed based on a resolution issued by the Post-Graduate Studies and Scientific Research Council, consisted of the following members:

The thesis aimed to assess the performance of public-school principals in Sana’a’s Capital Secretariat within the context of the knowledge economy.
Thabet’s research concluded that public school principals demonstrated a high degree of proficiency in their roles, as viewed by their vice-principals, when performing tasks aligned with the pillars of the knowledge economy.
Based on her findings, Thabet recommended that institutions continue to enhance their overall performance and encourage school principals to maintain their exceptional institutional performance by providing ongoing administrative support and training programs. She also urged the Ministry of Education and Scientific Research to prioritize and expand continuous education and training programs for both educational and administrative staff. This, she noted, would ensure the improvement of educational quality and align with the latest developments in the knowledge economy.
The thesis was examined and recommended by the Viva-Voce Committee for acceptance and approval. The defense was attended by a number of academics, researchers, interested individuals, in addition to the candidate’s colleagues and family members.
