PhD Degree Awarded to Mr. Mohammed Al-Dhamari in Business Administration

Mr. Mohammed Mehammed Ahmed Al-Dhamari was awarded a PhD degree in the major of Business Administration for his dissertation titled, “The Impact of Strategic Leadership on Organizational Performance through the Organizational Climate: A Field Study at the Public Electricity Corporation,” which was submitted to Center of Business Administration for Graduate Studies – Sana’a University. The PhD dissertation defense was held on Monday, October 20, 2025.
The PhD Viva-Voce Committee, which was formed based on a resolution issued by the Post-Graduate Studies and Scientific Research Council, consisted of the following members:

This study aims to determine the impact of strategic leadership on organizational performance, mediated by the organizational climate, within the Public Electricity Corporation.
The study yielded several significant findings, notably:
- There is a moderate level of attention given to strategic leadership across all its dimensions. The highest-practiced dimension was Emphasis on Ethical Practices, while the least-practiced was Developing Human Capital.
- A direct, statistically significant impact of strategic leadership on institutional performance was confirmed.
- An indirect, statistically significant impact of strategic leadership on institutional performance through the organizational climate was established.
The study put forth the following recommendations:
- Emphasizing Strategic Leadership: The Public Electricity Corporation must focus on the methods and practices of strategic leadership to achieve a high level of organizational climate and improve organizational performance.
- Enhancing Organizational Culture: It is crucial to reinforce organizational culture among employees, adopt values of fairness and equality in treatment, and provide both material and moral incentives, given their importance in enhancing organizational performance and achieving job satisfaction.
- Fostering Participation and Development: Encourage employees to share their creative ideas and participate in decision-making related to their work. Specialized and diverse training programs should be prioritized to increase employees’ skills and capacity to execute their assigned duties.
The PhD dissertation was examined and recommended by the Viva-Voce Committee for acceptance and approval. The PhD defense was attended by a number of academics, researchers, interested students, the candidate’s colleagues, and family members.
