Master’s Degree Awarded to Mr. Khalil Saleh Akrout in Physical Education

Mr. Khalil Saleh Ahmed Saleh Akrout was awarded a Master’s Degree in Physical Education for his thesis titled: Physical and Skill Indicators for Selecting Talented Football Players in Primary Schools in the Capital Secretariat – Sana’a, which was submitted to the Department of Physical Education, Faculty of Physical Education– Sana’a University. The MA defense was held on Thursday, November 20, 2025.
The MA Viva-voce Committee, which was formed based on a resolution issued by the Graduate Studies and Scientific Research Council, consisted of the following:

The study aimed to:
- Identify the physical and skill indicators used for selecting talented football players at the primary education level in the Capital Secretariat – Sana’a, given the importance of these indicators in early detection of football talent and in building a solid base of promising athletes capable of representing the country in the future.
The main findings of the study revealed the following:
- A set of physical and skill indicators was identified that can be adopted as scientific criteria for selecting talented students in primary schools in the Capital Secretariat – Sana’a.
- Clear differences were observed among players in their physical and skill abilities, confirming the feasibility of using these indicators as standardized benchmarks for structuring talent‑selection processes in football.
In light of these findings, the researcher recommended the following:
- Adopting national, systematic programs for detecting sports talent in schools.
- Developing students’ abilities through structured training.
- Providing appropriate resources and facilities within the school environment.
The defense session was attended by faculty members, researchers, students, colleagues, and the researcher’s family.
