Mr. Sadiq Sharaf Saleh Al-Hammadi <\/strong>was awarded a Master\u2019s Degree in Computer Science <\/strong>for his thesis titled: An Approach to Source Code Plagiarism Detection in Academia<\/em><\/strong>, which was submitted to the Department of Computer Science, Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology \u2013 Sana\u2019a University. The MA defense was held on Saturday, September 20, 2025.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

The MA Viva-voce Committee, which was formed based on a resolution issued by the Graduate Studies and Scientific Research Council, consisted of the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

The thesis aimed to propose a novel approach for detecting plagiarism in source code within academic environments, addressing the shortcomings of existing plagiarism detection methods.<\/p>\n

The research yielded several notable findings, including:<\/p>\n

    \n
  • Proposing an innovative approach for detecting source code plagiarism in academic contexts.<\/li>\n
  • Developing a tool based on the proposed approach to identify source code plagiarism in academic contexts.<\/li>\n
  • Demonstrating the superiority of the developed tool over the widely used software JPlag.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    In light of these findings, the researcher recommended:<\/p>\n

    • Expanding the proposed approach to include additional programming languages such as C++ and Java.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      The defense session was attended by a number of academics, researchers, colleagues and the researcher\u2019s family members.\u200e<\/p>\n
