Ms. Marwa Abdulhaleem Abdullah Al-Habbari <\/strong>was awarded a Master’s degree in International Development Studies <\/strong>with an average of (Excellent<\/strong>) for her thesis titled: Social and Economic Empowerment of Yemeni Women with Disabilities and Its Relation to Development<\/em><\/strong>, which was submitted to the Inclusive\u00a0Development Research Center\u00a0\u2013 Sana\u2019a University. The MA defense was held on Saturday, October 4, 2025.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

The MA Viva-voce Committee, which was formed based on a resolution issued by the Graduate Studies and Scientific Research Council, consisted of the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

The study aimed to examine the social and economic empowerment of Yemeni women with disabilities and its relationship to overall development.<\/p>\n

The findings indicated that social empowerment has been achieved to a relative extent, particularly in education and family support, yet remains weak in healthcare and family participation in decision-making.<\/p>\n

Based on the findings, the researcher proposed several recommendations, including:<\/p>\n

    \n
  • Adopting an integrated approach that includes strengthening family support, improving education and health services, and enhancing women\u2019s financial independence and participation in development and decision-making.<\/li>\n
  • Promoting coordination between associations and government institutions to ensure harmonized efforts and the achievement of shared goals.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    The defense session was attended by a number of academics, researchers, and interested participants, colleagues and the researcher\u2019s family members.<\/p>\n
