Ms. Azal Mohammed Alwan Ahmed Al-Basha<\/strong> was awarded a Master\u2019s Degree in Education Foundations <\/strong>with an average of excellent and a grade of (95) for her thesis titled: The Reality of School Theater in Basic Education Schools in the Capital Secretariat\u2013Sana\u2019a: Obstacles and Mechanisms for Activation<\/em><\/strong>, <\/em>which was submitted to the Faculty of Education \u2013 Sana\u2019a University. The MA defense was held on Wednesday, December 31, 2025.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

The MA Viva-voce Committee, which was formed based on a resolution issued by the Graduate Studies and Scientific Research Council, consisted of the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

The study aimed to:<\/p>\n

    \n
  • Diagnose the current status of school theater in basic education schools within the Capital Secretariat.<\/li>\n
  • Identify the obstacles hindering the practice of theatrical activities in these schools.<\/li>\n
  • Propose appropriate mechanisms for activating school theaters.<\/li>\n
  • Examine statistically significant differences at the 0.05 significance level in participants\u2019 responses regarding the reality of school theaters, its obstacles, and activation mechanisms, attributable to the variables of gender, job position, and educational district.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    The study yielded a number of key findings summarized as follows:<\/p>\n

      \n
    • The overall status of educational theater proved to be weak, as the total mean score reached 2.47, which falls within the weak category according to the Likert scale, with a relative coefficient of variation of approximately 49%.<\/li>\n
    • Obstacles to educational theater were found to be high, as the overall mean score for this domain reached 3.77.<\/li>\n
    • Mechanisms for activating educational theater scored very high, with an overall mean of 4.40, indicating strong agreement on their importance and feasibility.<\/li>\n
    • The analysis showed no statistically significant differences at the 0.05 level in the overall responses attributable to district or years of experience.<\/li>\n
    • Statistically significant differences were detected at the 0.05 level in the overall responses attributable to the school variable.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      In light of these findings, the researcher recommended:<\/p>\n

        \n
      • Adopting and implementing the proposed activation mechanisms in an integrated manner according to available resources.<\/li>\n
      • Utilizing school theaters to instill authentic moral values among students.<\/li>\n
      • Promoting theatrical awareness among learners across different educational stages.<\/li>\n
      • Creating new theatrical characters with which students can interact.<\/li>\n
      • Overcoming resistance to change among some school leaders regarding the importance of school theaters.<\/li>\n
      • Employing modern ethical and educational theories, such as learning through play and role-playing.<\/li>\n
      • Enhancing attention to school theaters by providing theatrical scripts suitable for all educational levels.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        The defense session was attended by a number of academics, researchers, students, colleagues, and the researcher\u2019s family.<\/p>\n
