Ms. Dhikra Ahmed Hussein Al-Sayaghi \u200e<\/strong>was awarded a Master\u2019s Degree in Food Science and Nutrition <\/strong>for her thesis titled: Effect of Low-Carbohydrate Ketogenic Diet on Weight Loss among Overweight and Obese Women<\/em><\/strong>, <\/em>which was submitted to the Department of Food Science and Nutrition, Faculty of Agriculture, Food, and Environment \u2013 Sana\u2019a University. The MA defense was held on Sunday, December 28, 2025.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

The MA Viva-voce Committee, which was formed based on a resolution issued by the Graduate Studies and Scientific Research Council, consisted of the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

The study aimed to investigate the effect of the ketogenic diet on weight loss among overweight and obese women, and to compare its effectiveness with that of a standard diet.<\/p>\n

The study yielded a number of key findings summarized as follows:<\/p>\n

    \n
  • The ketogenic diet proved more effective in promoting weight loss.<\/li>\n
  • It had a positive effect on reducing blood glucose levels in individuals with type 2 diabetes.<\/li>\n
  • The ketogenic diet contributed to improved insulin sensitivity.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    In light of the findings, the researcher recommended:<\/p>\n

      \n
    • Conducting separate studies for each study variable with a larger sample size and over a longer duration.<\/li>\n
    • Supporting and encouraging such research, given its significant benefits to public health and the community.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      The defense session was attended by a number of academics, researchers, students, colleagues, and the researcher\u2019s family.<\/p>\n
