Ms. Naziha Mohammed Abdullah Al-Sufi <\/strong>was awarded a PhD degree in English Language Curriculum and Teaching Method <\/strong>for her dissertation titled: The Effectiveness Of Using Mobile Phones In Developing English Writing Skills By Yemeni EFL University Students And Their Attitudes Towards Them<\/em><\/strong>, which was submitted to the Department of English Language Curriculum and Teaching Methods, Faculty of Education \u2013 Sana\u2019a University. The dissertation defense was held on Wednesday, January 7, 2026<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The PhD Viva-Voce Committee, which was formed based on a resolution issued by the Graduate Studies and Scientific Research Council, consisted of the following:<\/p>\n

The study aimed to<\/p>\n

    \n
  • Investigate the effectiveness of using mobile phones in developing English writing \u200eskills among Yemeni EFL university students studying English as a foreign language.\u200e<\/li>\n
  • Identify Yemeni EFL university students\u2019 attitudes towards the use of mobile phones in learning writing skills.\u200e<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    The study yielded several key findings summarized as follows:<\/p>\n

      \n
    • Statistically significant differences were detected between the mean scores of the experimental group in the pre\u2011 and post\u2011tests, favoring the post\u2011test results.<\/li>\n
    • Statistically significant differences were also observed between the post\u2011test mean scores of the experimental and control groups, favoring the experimental group that learned writing skills using mobile phones.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      In the light of these findings, the researcher recommended:<\/p>\n

        \n
      • Using mobile phones in teaching English writing skills to enhance students\u2019 \u200eachievement, enable them to apply these skills, and foster their positive attitudes \u200etowards such learning tools.\u200e<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        The dissertation defense was attended by a number of academics, researchers, and specialists, students, colleagues, and the researcher\u2019s family.<\/p>\n
