Mr. Mohammed Ahmed Ahmed Al-Khazzan <\/strong>was awarded a PhD degree in Criminal Law <\/strong>for his dissertation titled: Criminal Confrontation of Crimes Affecting the National Economy under Yemeni Law<\/em><\/strong>, which was submitted to the Faculty of Sharia and Law \u2013 Sana\u2019a University. The dissertation defense was held on Sunday, February 8, 2026<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The PhD Viva-Voce Committee, which was formed based on a resolution issued by the Graduate Studies and Scientific Research Council, consisted of the following:<\/p>\n

The dissertation aimed to:<\/p>\n

  • Examine the nature of economic crimes and assess their impact on the national \u200eeconomy.\u200e<\/li>\n
  • Analyze the existing legal framework governing the prosecution of such crimes in \u200eYemen.\u200e<\/li>\n
  • Identify the challenges and obstacles facing the effective enforcement of relevant \u200elaws.\u200e<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    The researcher recommended the following:<\/p>\n

    • Strengthening the legislative framework by updating anti-corruption and economic \u200ecrime laws to keep pace with contemporary developments.\u200e<\/li>\n
    • Enhancing the capacities of judicial and law enforcement bodies in combating \u200eeconomic crimes.\u200e<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      The dissertation defense was attended by a number of academics, researchers, and specialists, students, colleagues, and the researcher\u2019s family.<\/p>\n
