Mr. Omar Hamed Mohammed Ba\u2019alawi <\/strong>was awarded a PhD<\/strong> degree in Islamic Studies (Hadith and Its Sciences) <\/strong>for his dissertation titled: Muntaha Al-Elmam bi Ahadith Al-Ahkam (From the Beginning of the Book: The Chapter \u2018What Has Been Reported Concerning Islam\u2019 to the Chapter on the Virtue of Congregational Prayer) by the Scholar Mohammed bin Saleh bin Hadi Al-Samawi, Known as Ibn Harywah (d. 1241 AH): A Critical Study and Investigation<\/em><\/strong>, which was submitted to the Faculty of Arts and Humanities \u2013 Sana\u2019a University. The dissertation defense was held on Wednesday, February 11, 2026<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The PhD Viva-Voce Committee, which was formed based on a resolution issued by the Graduate Studies and Scientific Research Council, consisted of the following:<\/p>\n

The dissertation aimed to:<\/p>\n

    \n
  • Revive Islamic heritage in general and Yemeni heritage in particular.<\/li>\n
  • Highlight the scholarly status of the scholar Mohammed bin Saleh Al-Samawi (Ibn Harywah).<\/li>\n
  • Produce a verified edition of Muntaha Al-Elmam<\/em> and documenting its references.<\/li>\n
  • Reveal the author\u2019s critical methodology in dealing with hadiths of legal rulings.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    The study yielded several key findings summarized as follows:<\/p>\n

      \n
    • The manuscript text was edited and presented in an accurate scholarly form.<\/li>\n
    • All hadiths and narrations were traced back to their original sources.<\/li>\n
    • The study demonstrated that Al-Samawi followed a rigorous methodological approach.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      In light of these findings, the researcher recommended the following:\u200e<\/p>\n

        \n
      • Printing and publishing the book.<\/li>\n
      • Completing the critical edition of the remaining parts of Muntaha Al-Elmam<\/em>.<\/li>\n
      • Conducting in-depth analytical studies on the book\u2019s content.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        The dissertation defense was attended by a number of academics, researchers, and specialists, students, colleagues, and the researcher\u2019s family.<\/p>\n
