Mr. Waheeb Abdullah Mahfouz bin Furaijan \u200e<\/strong>was awarded a PhD<\/strong> degree in Analytical Chemistry <\/strong>for his dissertation titled: An Environmental Chemical Study of Yemeni Sesame Oil Varieties and Biodiesel Production<\/em><\/strong>, which was submitted to the Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Science<\/strong> \u2013 Sana\u2019a University. The dissertation defense was held on Saturday\u200e, February 15, 2026<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The PhD Viva-Voce Committee, which was formed based on a resolution issued by the Graduate Studies and Scientific Research Council, consisted of the following:<\/p>\n

The dissertation aimed to:<\/p>\n

    \n
  • Study the physical and chemical properties of soil and sesame oil, and produce \u200ebiodiesel from sesame oil.\u200e<\/li>\n
  • Examine the physical and chemical properties of the produced biodiesel.\u200e<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    The study yielded several key findings summarized as follows:<\/p>\n

    • The physical and chemical properties of soil, sesame oil, and biodiesel were within \u200einternationally accepted standards.\u200e<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      In light of these findings, the researcher recommended the following:\u200e<\/p>\n

        \n
      • Providing sesame seeds at lower prices.\u200e<\/li>\n
      • Assessing the environmental impact of sesame farms for biodiesel production.\u200e<\/li>\n
      • Conducting cost analysis to evaluate the economic feasibility of producing biodiesel \u200efrom sesame oil.\u200e<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        The dissertation defense was attended by a number of academics, researchers, and specialists, students, colleagues, and the researcher\u2019s family.<\/p>\n
