Mr. Waleed Hassan Mohammed Al-Mutawakel \u200e<\/strong>was awarded a Master\u2019s Degree in Forensic Medicine and Toxicology\u200e <\/strong>with distinction for his thesis titled: The Use of Intraoral Scanning in Human Identification Through Dental Morphological Traits of Living Individuals and Human Remains Across Different Yemeni Populations<\/em><\/strong>, <\/em>which was submitted to the Department of Forensic Medicine and Toxicology, Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences \u2013 Sana\u2019a University. The MA defense was held on Saturday, March 14, 2026\u200e\u200e.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

The MA Viva-voce Committee, which was formed based on a resolution issued by the Graduate Studies and Scientific Research Council, consisted of the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

The thesis aimed to:<\/p>\n

    \n
  • Utilize dental morphological traits as an accurate method for human identification.<\/li>\n
  • Establish a database and digital repository to support forensic identification processes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    The study yielded several key findings summarized as follows:<\/p>\n

      \n
    • Distinct dental traits were identified across several Yemeni governorates. \u200e<\/li>\n
    • Shoveling trait prevailed more in Hodeida Governorate. \u200e<\/li>\n
    • The labial convexity trait was more prominent in Dhamar Governorate. \u200e<\/li>\n
    • The wedge-shaped trait was notably observed in Ibb Governorate.\u200e<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      In light of these findings, the researcher recommended the following:\u200e<\/p>\n

        \n
      • Expanding the database to include all Yemeni governorates and increasing sample \u200e \u200e<\/li>\n
      • Encouraging relevant authorities to adopt and build upon this research due to its \u200esignificance in forensic medicine applications.\u200e<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        The defense session was attended by a number of academics, researchers, students, colleagues, and the researcher\u2019s family.<\/p>\n
