Mr. Bakeel Shawqi Mohammed Shalabi <\/strong>was awarded a PhD<\/strong> degree in Educational Administration and Planning <\/strong>for his dissertation titled: The Role of Stakeholders in the Relationship between Strategic Orientation and Institutional Performance in Yemeni Universities<\/em><\/strong>, which was submitted to the Department of Educational Administration and Planning, Faculty of Education\u2013Sana\u2019a University. The dissertation defense was held on Monday, June 8, 2026.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The PhD Viva-Voce Committee, which was formed based on a resolution issued by the Graduate Studies and Scientific Research Council, consisted of the following:<\/p>\n

The dissertation aimed to:<\/p>\n

    \n
  • Examine the current state of strategic orientation in Yemeni universities.<\/li>\n
  • Assess the level of institutional performance in Yemeni universities.<\/li>\n
  • Determine the extent to which stakeholders perform their proposed roles from the perspective of experts.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    The study yielded several key findings summarized as follows:<\/p>\n

      \n
    • The level of strategic orientation in Yemeni universities was high, with a mean score of 3.93.<\/li>\n
    • Institutional performance was also rated at a high level, with a mean score of 3.85.<\/li>\n
    • The degree of stakeholder participation in carrying out their roles reached a mean score of 3.86, indicating a high level of engagement.<\/li>\n
    • All three dimensions\u2014strategic orientation, institutional performance, and stakeholder involvement\u2014fell within the high-performance category.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      In light of these findings, the researcher recommended the following:<\/p>\n

        \n
      • Developing formal and systematic frameworks for stakeholder engagement, particularly through advisory councils and strategic planning committees.<\/li>\n
      • Enhancing stakeholder participation in reviewing and developing academic programs to ensure alignment with labor market needs.<\/li>\n
      • Involving stakeholders in evaluation and oversight systems and in the development of shared performance indicators to strengthen institutional effectiveness.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        The dissertation defense was attended by a number of academics, researchers, and specialists, students, colleagues, and the researcher\u2019s family.<\/p>\n
