Ms. Naseem Tawfiq Yahya Amer \u200e<\/strong>was awarded a Master\u2019s Degree in Pharmacology and Therapeutics <\/strong>for her thesis titled: Evaluation of Analgesic Effect of Capparis cartilaginea Leaf Extract and Investigation of Its Potential Mechanism of Action<\/em><\/strong>, <\/em>which was submitted to the Department of Pharmacology and Therapeutics, Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences \u2013 Sana\u2019a University. The MA defense was held on Monday, June 15, 2026 \u200e\u200e.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

The MA Viva-voce Committee, which was formed based on a resolution issued by the Graduate Studies and Scientific Research Council, consisted of the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

The thesis aimed to:<\/p>\n

    \n
  • Evaluate the analgesic activity of Capparis cartilaginea leaf extract using experimental animal models.<\/li>\n
  • Investigate its potential mechanism of action through molecular docking and network pharmacology approaches.<\/li>\n
  • Explore the therapeutic potential of the plant\u2019s bioactive compounds as candidates for future pain-management therapies.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    The study yielded several key findings summarized as follows:<\/p>\n

      \n
    • The leaf extract demonstrated significant and pronounced analgesic activity in the experimental models.<\/li>\n
    • The extract appears to exert its effects through multiple pharmacological targets and pathways, enhancing its potential therapeutic efficacy.<\/li>\n
    • The active compound Hepta-1 exhibited promising pharmacological properties and may serve as a potential lead compound for the development of future analgesic drugs.\u200e<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      In light of these findings, the researcher recommended the following:\u200e<\/p>\n

        \n
      • Conducting further advanced pharmacological and molecular investigations to validate the efficacy of the active compounds and clarify their mechanisms of action.<\/li>\n
      • Isolating and characterizing the plant\u2019s bioactive constituents and examining their pharmacological and chemical properties in greater detail.<\/li>\n
      • Expanding preclinical and clinical research to explore the therapeutic applications of these compounds and support the development of novel analgesic agents.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        The defense session was attended by a number of academics, researchers, students, colleagues, and the researcher\u2019s family.<\/p>\n
