Ms. Abeer Mansour Ali Al-Raimi \u200e<\/strong>was awarded a Master\u2019s Degree in Individual Service <\/strong>with an average of excellent and a grade of (95) for her thesis titled: Family Problems Resulting from Women\u2019s Employment and the Role of Social Work: An Applied Study on Working Women at Sana\u2019a University<\/em><\/strong>, <\/em>which was submitted to the Department of Social Work, Faculty of Arts and Humanities\u2013 Sana\u2019a University. The MA defense was held on Thursday, May 21, 2026\u200e\u200e.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

The MA Viva-voce Committee, which was formed based on a resolution issued by the Graduate Studies and Scientific Research Council, consisted of the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

The thesis aimed to:<\/p>\n

    \n
  • Identify the family-related problems associated with women\u2019s employment.<\/li>\n
  • Examine differences in family problems according to marital status, number of children, and educational level.<\/li>\n
  • Compare family problems experienced by married women working in administrative positions and those in academic positions at Sana\u2019a University.<\/li>\n
  • Highlight the role of social work in mitigating family problems arising from women\u2019s employment.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    The study yielded several key findings summarized as follows:<\/p>\n

      \n
    • There was a relative balance between women employed in administrative and academic positions, with administrative employees experiencing slightly higher levels of work-related pressures and their impact on family life.<\/li>\n
    • Economic and organizational burdens were identified as the most significant challenges facing working women.<\/li>\n
    • Social problems were primarily reflected in reduced social participation and weakened family communication due to work commitments.<\/li>\n
    • Health-related issues recorded the highest prevalence among the problems associated with women\u2019s employment.<\/li>\n
    • Psychological challenges included increased stress, reduced concentration, and difficulties in emotional regulation, highlighting the need for social work interventions to support psychological well-being.<\/li>\n
    • Social workers at the university play a vital role in alleviating the difficulties faced by working women through professional intervention and support services.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

       <\/p>\n

      In light of these findings, the researcher recommended the following:\u200e<\/p>\n

        \n
      • Providing family counseling services through qualified social workers at Sana\u2019a University to diagnose family problems, offer professional interventions, and promote family stability.<\/li>\n
      • Strengthening the preventive role of social work through guidance and awareness programs before problems escalate.<\/li>\n
      • Designing specialized intervention programs tailored to the needs of working women, focusing on communication skills and conflict resolution.<\/li>\n
      • Promoting a culture of family dialogue and mutual understanding between spouses regarding work and family responsibilities.<\/li>\n
      • Providing workplace support services, such as childcare facilities, to reduce family-related stress and improve productivity.<\/li>\n
      • Enhancing legislation related to women\u2019s employment to ensure family and psychological protection and support a healthy balance between professional and family roles.<\/li>\n
      • Encouraging further research and studies aimed at supporting working women and reducing family and occupational pressures.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        The defense session was attended by a number of academics, researchers, students, colleagues, and the researcher\u2019s family.<\/p>\n
