Mr. Mohammed Salem Karama Al-Bouri <\/strong>was awarded a PhD<\/strong> degree in \u200eEnglish Language Curriculum and Teaching Methods <\/strong>for his dissertation titled: Evaluating the English Language Proficiency Program at Al-Ahagaff University in Light of Quality Assurance Standards<\/em><\/strong>, which was submitted to the Department of English Language Curriculum and Teaching Methods, Faculty of Education \u2013Sana\u2019a University. The dissertation defense was held on Thursday, June 25, 2026.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The PhD Viva-Voce Committee, which was formed based on a resolution issued by the Graduate Studies and Scientific Research Council, consisted of the following:<\/p>\n

The dissertation aimed to evaluate the extent to which quality assurance standards are available and implemented in the English Language Proficiency Program by examining several key areas, including teaching performance, teaching methods and classroom activities, course content, assessment methods, and the program\u2019s mission, objectives, and learning outcomes<\/p>\n

The study yielded several key findings summarized as follows:<\/p>\n

    \n
  • Quality assurance standards were generally available across the program.<\/li>\n
  • Teaching performance indicators received a high level of importance from students\u2019 perspectives.<\/li>\n
  • Teaching methods and classroom activities achieved ratings ranging from moderate to high.<\/li>\n
  • Variations were identified in the level of implementation of certain quality standards across different program domains.<\/li>\n
  • Statistically significant differences were found based on gender, in favor of female students.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    In light of these findings, the researcher recommended the following:<\/p>\n

      \n
    • Strengthening the implementation of quality assurance standards more consistently across all areas of the program.<\/li>\n
    • Enhancing teaching performance, instructional methods, and classroom activities.<\/li>\n
    • Periodically reviewing assessment mechanisms and course content.<\/li>\n
    • Promoting continuous improvement of learning outcomes and advancing the quality of English language programs at the university.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      The dissertation defense was attended by a number of academics, researchers, and specialists, students, colleagues, and the researcher\u2019s family.<\/p>\n
