Researcher Dares Abdullah Ahmed Al-Qahtani <\/strong>was awarded a PhD<\/strong> degree in Mental Health <\/strong>for his dissertation titled: Psychological Resilience and Its Relationship with Self-Regulation and Mental Health among Physicians and Their Assistants in Dhamar Governorate<\/em><\/strong>, which was submitted to the Department of Psychology, Faculty of Arts and Humanities\u2013Sana\u2019a University. The dissertation defense was held on Wednesday, July 1, 2026.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The PhD Viva-Voce Committee, which was formed based on a resolution issued by the Graduate Studies and Scientific Research Council, consisted of the following:<\/p>\n

The study aimed to examine the relationship between psychological resilience, self-regulation, and mental health among physicians and their assistants in Dhamar Governorate. It also sought to measure the levels of these variables, identify differences according to gender, educational qualification, years of service, and marital status, and investigate the predictive role of psychological resilience in self-regulation and mental health.<\/p>\n

The findings revealed that the participants demonstrated a high level of psychological resilience (59.8%), while the level of self-regulation was moderate (54%). The overall level of mental health reached 75.3%, indicating a high level.<\/p>\n

The results also showed a statistically significant positive correlation between psychological resilience and self-regulation. However, no statistically significant positive correlation was found between psychological resilience, including its dimensions, and mental health.<\/p>\n

The study further indicated that there were no statistically significant differences in psychological resilience, mental health, or self-regulation attributable to gender, marital status, educational qualification, or years of experience, with the exception of self-regulation. In addition, psychological resilience was found to be a statistically significant predictor of self-regulation, whereas its predictive effect on mental health was not statistically significant.<\/p>\n

The dissertation defense was attended by a number of academics, postgraduate students, researchers, as well as the researcher’s colleagues and family members.<\/p>\n
