Researcher Taqwa Mohammed Abdu Taha Al-Hattari \u200e<\/strong>was awarded a PhD<\/strong> degree in Islamic Studies Curriculum and Teaching Methods \u200e<\/strong>for her dissertation titled: The Effectiveness of a Twenty-First Century Skills-Based Program for Teaching Islamic Education in Developing Creative Thinking, Future Thinking, and Self-Efficacy Among Third-Year High School Female Students in the Capital Secretariat\u2013Sana\u2019a<\/em><\/strong>, which was submitted to the Department of Islamic Studies Curriculum and Teaching Methods, Faculty of Education\u2013Sana\u2019a University. The dissertation defense was held on Thursday, July 30, 2026.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The PhD Viva-Voce Committee, which was formed based on a resolution issued by the Graduate Studies and Scientific Research Council, consisted of the following:<\/p>\n

The study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of a Twenty-First Century Skills-based program for teaching Islamic Education and its impact on developing creative thinking, future thinking, and self-efficacy among third-year high school female students in the Capital Secretariat \u2013 Sana\u2019a.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The findings resulted in the development of four validated skill frameworks, including a Twenty-First Century Skills framework comprising 64 skills, a Creative Thinking Skills framework comprising 35 skills, a Future Thinking Skills framework comprising 30 skills, and a Self-Efficacy framework comprising 31 skills.<\/p>\n

The study also developed a training program based on Twenty-First Century Skills, consisting of 10 training sessions. The program included its rationale, theoretical foundations, stages of development, general and specific objectives, content, training strategies, activities and assignments, instructional materials, assessment methods, and implementation requirements.<\/p>\n

The researcher recommended utilizing the proposed program to train high school Islamic Education teachers in integrating Twenty-First Century Skills into classroom instruction to enhance students’ competencies. She also recommended officially adopting and implementing the program in teaching Islamic Education to third-year high school students, citing its demonstrated effectiveness in fostering creative thinking, future thinking, and self-efficacy among female students.<\/p>\n

The dissertation defense was attended by a number of academics, postgraduate students, researchers, as well as the researcher’s colleagues and family members.<\/p>\n
