The MA defense was held on <strong>Tuesday, July 14, 2026\u200e\u200e.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The MA Viva-voce Committee, which was formed based on a resolution issued by the Graduate Studies and Scientific Research Council, consisted of the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Abdullah Abdu Mudahesh Ali \u2013 Taiz University \u2013 External Examiner and Committee Chair.<\/li>\n<li>Prof. Mansour Ahmed Yahya Al-Ameri \u2013 Sana\u2019a University \u2013 Principal Supervisor.<\/li>\n<li>Prof. Fouad Abdu Ismail Al-Mekhlafi \u2013 Sana\u2019a University \u2013 Internal Examiner and Committee Member.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The study aimed to develop a model for forecasting the monthly volume of insurance claims in the motor insurance branch by comparing the performance of linear statistical models, represented by the ARIMA model, with nonlinear neural network models (LSTM, GRU, and MLP), as well as hybrid models (ARIMA-ANN and ANN-ARIMA), in terms of their ability to represent and forecast the data accurately.<\/p>\n<p>The study also aimed to compare the performance of feedforward and recurrent neural networks in representing nonlinear temporal relationships and to analyze the effect of the ordering of components in hybrid models on forecasting accuracy.<\/p>\n<p>The findings showed that the LSTM neural network model outperformed the other models, achieving the best forecasting performance, followed by the hybrid LSTM-ARIMA model.
