The MA defense was held on <strong>Thursday, August 27, 2026<\/strong><strong>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The PhD Viva-Voce Committee, which was formed based on a resolution issued by the Graduate Studies and Scientific Research Council, consisted of the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Suad Salem Al-Sab\u2019a \u2013 Sana\u2019a University \u2013 Internal Examiner and Committee Chair.<\/li>\n<li>Abdullah Ali Al-Kori \u2013 Sana\u2019a University \u2013 Principal Supervisor and Committee Member.<\/li>\n<li>Abdu Ali Al-Hittar \u2013 Hodeidah University \u2013 External Examiner and Committee Member.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The study aimed to determine the effectiveness of a program based on the Academic Cognitive Approach in developing reading comprehension skills and generative thinking skills among secondary school students in the Capital Secretariat, Sana\u2019a.<\/p>\n<p>The study produced several key findings, including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Statistically significant differences were found between the mean scores of students in the experimental and control groups on the post-test of reading comprehension skills, attributable to the use of the program and in favor of the experimental group.<\/li>\n<li>Statistically significant differences were found between the mean scores of students in the experimental group on the pre- and post-tests of reading comprehension skills, in favor of the post-test, with a large effect size of 0.701.<\/li>\n<li>Statistically significant differences were found between the mean scores of students in the experimental and control groups on the post-test of generative thinking skills, in favor of the experimental group.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The study recommended that curriculum planners and designers give greater attention to activities that stimulate thinking and foster creativity based on text comprehension and problem-solving through the Academic Cognitive Approach among secondary school students.<\/p>\n<p>It also recommended training Arabic language teachers to use the Academic Cognitive Approach in teaching, enabling them to apply it with students across different stages of general education.<\/p>\n<p>The defense session was attended by a number of academics, researchers, and postgraduate students, as well as the researcher\u2019s colleagues and family members.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\"
