Water and Environment Center holds Seminars of Master Thesis Proposals for IWRM ‎Students

As part of its academic and research activities, the Water and Environment Center at ‎Sana’a University held a seminar on Monday, September 22, 2025, to discuss the thesis ‎proposals of master’s students in the Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) ‎program.‎

• Mohammed Ali Al-Zawraqi presented his proposal entitled “Evaluating the ‎Performance of Local Water Institutions in Yemen under Urban Expansion and Water ‎Scarcity: A Case Study of the Local Water Corporation in Marib Governorate.” His ‎thesis will be supervised by Prof. Fadhl Al-Nuzaili (Faculty of Engineering, Sana’a ‎University) as the main supervisor, and Assoc. Prof. Abdulrahman Al-Eryani ‎‎(Water and Environment Center, Sana’a University) as co-supervisor.‎
• Mohammed Abdullah Yahya Mohammed presented his proposal entitled “The ‎Impact of Climate Change on Coffee Cultivation in Yemen: A Case Study of the Effects ‎of Drought and Floods on Farms in Arrian and Haraz.” His thesis will be supervised ‎by Assoc. Prof. Abdulrahman Al-Eryani (Water and Environment Center, Sana’a ‎University) as the main supervisor, and Prof. Fadhl Al-Nuzaili (Faculty of ‎Engineering, Sana’a University) as co-supervisor.‎

The seminar was attended by faculty members, specialists, and academic supervisors, who ‎praised the students’ efforts and highlighted the significance of the research topics in ‎addressing water and environmental challenges in Yemen.‎

At the conclusion of the event, both proposals were approved, enabling the students to ‎proceed to the stage of preparing their full theses.‎
