Inauguration of the Training Program on Road Management and Maintenance in Yemen Entitled: Evaluating Problems and Prioritizing Solutions in Road Management and Maintenance in Yemen

On Sunday, May 19, 2024, a training program titled “Evaluating Problems and Prioritizing Solutions in Road Management and Maintenance in Yemen” was launched in the presence of:

  • Ghaleb Mutlaq – Minister of Public Works and Highways
  • Al-Kasem Abass – University Rector
  • Taha Al-Washali – Director of the Water and Environment Center
  • Directors of Road Maintenance units and institutions, as well as the Road Maintenance Fund.

Minister Ghaleb Mutlaq emphasized the significance of the training course and the collaboration between academic and practical sectors, highlighting the role of the Water and Environment Center (WEC) in offering these programs using modern methodologies focused on problem-solving training through both vertical and horizontal approaches. He also praised the Center’s expertise in utilizing rainwater on roads and transforming them into green roads.

The University Rector concluded the inaugural session, confirming that this program is part of the roadmap for the country’s reconstruction plan
