Second Phase of Training for Water and Sanitation Institutions on Emergency Management, Flexibility, and Recovery to Improve Water and Sanitation Services in Yemeni Urban Cities

In collaboration with the Dutch organization MetaMeta and with funding from the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the WEC at Sana’a University initiated the second phase of training for water and sanitation institutions, aiming to enhance emergency management, resilience, and recovery to improve water and sanitation services in Yemeni urban cities

The training targeted three local institutions (Abyan, Saada, and Amran), two branches of the Public Water and Sanitation Corporation (Rimah and Ataq), and five NGOs (Gaduq Organization – BFD – SCI – IMC – WHO). Training took place on 26/27 October 2021, aiming to prepare proposals addressing the significant and pressing challenges encountered by these institutions

Upon the conclusion of the training phase, participants were able to identify practical solutions and interventions necessary to tackle the issues identified during the risk assessment phase during the first stage. This step facilitates the progression towards finalizing the resilience and recovery plan, ultimately improving service delivery of water and sanitation institutions in Yemen
