Ministry of Electricity, Sana’a University have signed agreement of understanding to conserve water

The Ministry of Electricity, Energy and Water signed today a memorandum of understanding with Sana’a University represented by the Water and Environment Center to enhance areas of cooperation in water conservation by benefiting from the scientific, technical and applied expertise of the center.

The accord, inked by the Minister of Electricity, Energy and Water, Dr. Ali Saif Mohammed, and the President of Sana’a University, Dr. Al-Qasim Abbas, encompasses the initiation of collaborative efforts and partnerships to explore and secure financing for addressing water issues and advancing diverse areas connected to scientific research, training, as well as scientific, technical, and applied advisory services, alongside the sharing of expertise in this domain.

The agreement is centered on developing essential insights, examining the water conditions in Sana’a, implementing sustainable solutions, and gathering existing studies in this domain. These studies will be reviewed and compared with Sana’a’s current water situation to devise a comprehensive and actionable plan.

The agreement also includes directing scientific research to serve the directions of the government of change and construction program and future cooperation in the renewable energy track and working on developing the “local code” of specifications and standards for water entering and leaving sewage plants.
