The Master’s Program in Integrated Water Resources Management, offered by the Water and Environment Center at Sana’a University, is an advanced and distinguished academic program. It aims to qualify specialized cadres capable of effectively contributing to the development of water resources management policies and strategies in Yemen and the region. The program is designed to bridge the significant gap in national competencies in the field of integrated water resources management, a gap that has worsened in recent decades as a result of environmental challenges, climate change, and rapid population growth..
The program focuses on preparing engineers, researchers, and experts in the fields of water and environment, as well as policy analysts equipped with the latest knowledge and skills in sustainable water resource planning and management, with an emphasis on analytical tools, resource assessment, and integrated water policy formulation. It also prepares graduates to continue their academic studies in doctoral programs and participate in applied research with national and international impact..
This program represents a strategic step towards building the scientific and professional capacities needed to address the growing challenges in the water sector, and contributes to supporting sustainable development efforts and enhancing environmental governance in Yemen.

Mission of Master's program

The Integrated Water Resources Management Master’s Program seeks to provide qualified personnel to manage water resources in the Republic of Yemen, effectively contributing to community service and providing an educational and research environment with a focus on targeted education and applied research.

Master's Program Objectives

1. Providing the public and private sectors with qualified graduates in the field of integrated water resources management.
2. Meeting the needs of the Yemeni research environment and enhance local and international research and academic cooperation by producing graduates capable of creativity, scientific research, writing, and publishing.
3. Preparing qualified personnel to manage integrated water resources management projects and improve their efficiency.
4. Supporting national and regional decision-making on water and environmental issues.
5. Spreading awareness in Yemeni society about the importance of integrated water resources management..

Required specializations

College of Science / College of Engineering / College of Agriculture or any other specializations provided that five years of experience in the water sector

Required qualifications for admission to the program

Bachelor’s degrees in Agriculture, Engineering, Science, and Petroleum and Natural Resources. Graduates from other colleges are also welcome, provided they have five years of experience in the water and environment field
