Sana\u2019a \u2013 Tuesday, December 23, 2025 (Rajab 3, 1447 Hijri)<\/p>\n

The Water and Environment Center (WEC) at Sana\u2019a University organized today a scientific and intellectual symposium titled \u201cZionist Ambitions and Aggressions on Arab Water Resources.\u201d The event was held as part of the \u201cAcademics Toward Al-Quds\u201d symposium series, with the participation of a distinguished group of academics, researchers, postgraduate students, and specialists.<\/p>\n

In his remarks, Prof. Mohammed Ahmed Al-Bukhaiti, Sana\u2019a University Rector, affirmed the university\u2019s commitment to continuing the organization of specialized scientific and research symposiums that contribute to raising academic awareness of central Arab issues. He stressed the university\u2019s role in advancing scientific research and serving the causes of the nation, foremost among them the Palestinian cause and Arab water security.<\/p>\n

He highlighted the importance of shedding light on the challenges facing water resources in the Arab region and addressing them from a scientific and research-based perspective, reflecting the responsibility of academic institutions to analyze strategic issues in line with internationally recognized scientific standards.<\/p>\n

Prof. Al-Bukhaiti noted that Sana\u2019a University is working to empower its faculties and research centers to regularly address key issues\u2014each within its field of specialization\u2014thereby strengthening the university\u2019s academic presence and enriching research output that contributes to improving international university rankings.<\/p>\n

The symposium was attended by Prof. Ibrahim Al-Muta\u2019a, Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, and was moderated by Prof. Zaid Al-Warith, the Rector\u2019s Assistant for Scientific and Research Centers\u2019 Affairs.<\/p>\n

The symposium included four scientific working papers, as follows:
\n\u2022 The First Paper: Titled \u201cWater Wars in the Arab Region and the World,\u201d presented by WEC Director Dr. Taha Al-Weshali. It addressed water-related conflicts in the Arab region and the world, highlighting the conflict in the Jordan River basin and the impact of water on regional conflicts.
\n\u2022 The Second Paper: Titled \u201cWater Deprivation Warfare: Using Water as a Tool for Control and Displacement,\u201d presented by Dr. Abdulrahman Salah. It reviewed the historical and political dimensions of controlling water resources and the water reality in the Palestinian territories, especially in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip.
\n\u2022 The Third Paper: Titled \u201cIsraeli Ambitions in Lebanese Water: Sovereignty Challenges and Needs,\u201d presented by Lebanese researcher Maha Jammoul from the Consultative Center for Studies and Documentation in Lebanon. It discussed the challenges related to Lebanese water resources in light of regional conflicts.
\n\u2022 The Fourth Paper: Titled \u201cThe Ecology of the Israeli Aggression on the Gaza Strip,\u201d presented by Dr. Yousef Al-Makhrafi. It addressed the environmental, geographical, economic, and health impacts of conflicts and their effect on natural resources and the environment in general.<\/p>\n

The symposium included in-depth academic discussions and interventions from participants, enriching its themes and reflecting a high level of scholarly engagement and research interest in environmental and water issues of regional and international significance.<\/p>\n

This symposium comes within Sana\u2019a University\u2019s broader orientation toward strengthening scientific research and documenting academic activities that serve national and regional priorities.<\/p>\n
