The Water and Environment Center organized this morning a training course entitled \u200e\u200e\u201cBuilding a Researcher Identity,\u201d delivered by Dr. Amira Ali Al-Harithi, Assistant \u200eProfessor of Biotechnology and Microbiology, with the support of the University\u2019s \u200eGeneral Administration for Scientific Research and the Faculty of Science.\u200e<\/p>\n

The course aimed to raise awareness of the importance of building a researcher\u2019s \u200eacademic identity and developing their scholarly presence on specialized academic \u200eplatforms, thereby enhancing the visibility of their scientific output, expanding the reach \u200eof their research, and strengthening their engagement with the academic and research \u200ecommunity.\u200e<\/p>\n

The course addressed several topics related to digital platforms for scientific research, \u200eparticularly Google Scholar, ResearchGate, and ORCID, introducing their roles in \u200ebuilding researchers\u2019 academic profiles, documenting their scientific output, linking their \u200epublications and research work, and strengthening their academic presence.\u200e<\/p>\n

It also explored mechanisms for creating and updating researchers\u2019 profiles and ways of \u200emonitoring and benefiting from research metrics, as well as highlighting the importance of \u200ebuilding scholarly networks and communicating with researchers across various \u200edisciplines. Such networks can open new avenues for collaboration, knowledge exchange, \u200eand identifying opportunities for research partnerships.\u200e<\/p>\n

The course featured active participation and engagement from attendees, who discussed a \u200enumber of topics related to building a research identity, making optimal use of academic \u200eplatforms, and leveraging digital tools to enhance researchers\u2019 academic presence and \u200escientific output.\u200e<\/p>\n

The course was organized as part of the Water and Environment Center\u2019s efforts to \u200esupport researchers and those interested in scientific research, develop their skills, and \u200eprovide training programs that contribute to advancing research practices and fostering a \u200eculture of excellence and continuous scientific development.\u200e<\/p>\n

At the end of the course, the Center affirmed its commitment to continuing to implement \u200etraining programs and activities aimed at building researchers\u2019 capacities, supporting \u200escientific research, and strengthening the presence of Sana\u2019a University and its \u200eresearchers within academic and scientific communities and platforms.\u200e<\/p>\n
