As part of its role as a leading, academic, and professional hub and a center of expertise ‎in translation and language teaching, the Community Center for Translation and ‎Language Teaching (CCTLT) at Sana’a University hosted a specialized field visit for a ‎group of twelve students from the Media Program at the University of Science and ‎Technology accompanied by Dr. Esam Al-Jawbaei. This visit underscores the Center’s position as a specialized training reference ‎point, dedicated to bridging the gap between academic theory and professional practice to meet labor market needs.‎

The visiting students were received by the Center’s Director, Prof. Ibraheem Tagaddeen, ‎the Head of the Translation Unit, Dr. Faisal Al-Dawli, and the Public Relations Officer, ‎Ms. Saba Al-Arshani, who welcomed the group and emphasized the importance of such ‎visits in refining media students’ skills and familiarizing them with modern translation ‎tools, particularly for specialized media translation.‎

During the visit, the Center Director delivered a comprehensive presentation outlining the ‎Center’s mission, educational activities, and specialized training programs. He highlighted ‎its professional translation and language teaching services, as well as its role in preparing ‎media and linguistic professionals to meet the needs of contemporary media institutions.‎

Students observed the workflow within the Translation Unit, learning about document ‎processing mechanisms, the nature of tasks undertaken, and the professional challenges ‎translators face. They were also introduced to the standards and procedures adopted to ‎ensure the highest levels of translation quality and accuracy.‎

The students were also acquainted with the Center translators’ experiences in the field of media ‎translation, including the types of texts and media materials handled and modern ‎translation strategies and techniques. Discussions addressed key challenges in translating ‎journalistic texts, news reports, and advertising materials.‎

Beyond a general orientation, the visit served as a comprehensive applied learning ‎experience. Students were introduced to the Center’s language teaching activities, ‎advanced training programs in translation, and competency-building services designed for ‎learners and professionals across various disciplines.‎

The visit culminated in a short specialized training workshop on “Media Translation and Its ‎Techniques.” Led by the Center’s Director with participation from the Head of the ‎Translation Unit and senior translators, the workshop explored strategies for processing ‎news and advertising texts, professional challenges in media translation, and the ‎integration of artificial intelligence tools and modern technologies to support and enhance ‎the translation process. This reflects the Center’s commitment to keeping pace with global ‎technological developments in the field.‎

Center officials affirmed that this visit aligns with Sana’a University’s mission of serving ‎community and expanding cooperation with public and private universities. Through these activities, CCTLT ‎contributes to developing translation programs, improving educational ‎outcomes, advancing specialized translation services in Yemen, and strengthening the ‎integration between media and translation in both academic and professional spheres.‎
