Sana’a University CCTLT Hosts Media Students from the University of Modern Sciences in Qualitative Academic-Training Visit.

The Community Center for Translation and Language Teaching (CCTLT) at Sana’a University received today a group of students from the Media Program at the University of Modern Sciences (UMS), accompanied by Dr. Esam Al-Jawbaei, as part of an academic and practical training visit aimed at strengthening students’ applied skills and linking academic competence to actual professional practice.
The group was received by Prof. Ibraheem Tagaddeen, the Center’s Director; Dr. Faisal Al-Dawli, Head of the Translation Unit; Mr. Khaled Al-Zabidi, Center’s General Secretary; and Ms. Saba Al-Arashani, the Public Relation Officer. The visit began with an overview of the Center’s academic and community service roles in translation and language teaching, showing its efforts to enhance linguistic proficiency in Yemen.
The visit featured a specialized training workshop on general translation, delivered by Dr. Faisal Al-Dawli, which outlined key translation strategies and demonstrated how technology and human expertise can be combined to produce accurate, high-quality translations.
This was followed by a training session on media translation delivered by Prof. Ibraheem Tagaddeen, who discussed the characteristics of media and journalistic language, techniques for translating news reports and advertising texts, and the growing role of digital tools and artificial intelligence in improving workflow efficiency while maintaining precision and credibility. He also highlighted key challenges faced by translators in the media field and proposed practical solutions.
The visit also featured a field tour of the Center’s Translation Unit, where students observed workflow procedures, the handling of official and specialized documents, and the quality assurance standards and procedures applied to ensure accuracy in translation outputs.
The students were also introduced to the Center’s specialized training programs aimed at developing linguistic competencies and professional translation skills, as well as the general and specialized translation services offered to various institutions and sectors.
At the conclusion of the visit, attended by Dr. Yahya Obaid, the Center’s Deputy Director, the Center’s Director emphasized that hosting this visit reflects Sana’a University’s commitment to community engagement and its ongoing efforts to reinforce partnerships with public and private universities. This collaboration aims to support the development of translation programs in Yemen, keep pace with global advancements, and enhance the quality of educational outcomes by integrating theoretical and practical learning.
The visit comes as part of the Sana’a University’s broader strategy to expand cooperation with educational institutions and to share its long-standing expertise in specialized translation, with the aim of preparing media and language professionals capable of meeting labor market needs in line with modern professional standards.
