Field Visit for Translation Students at Knowledge and Modern Sciences University To the Center for Translation and Language Teaching

Students from the Translation Department at Knowledge and Modern Sciences University, accompanied by Assoc Prof. Jihan Oshiesh, the Department Head, and Dr. Ghadir Alobal undertook a field visit to the Community Center for Translation and Language Teaching (CCTLT) at Sana’a University. The visit aimed to provide students with practical insights into real-world translation processes and to benefit from the expertise of the translators of the Center’s Translation Unit. Upon arrival, the students were welcomed by Assoc. Prof. Ibraheem Tagaddeen, the Center’s Director, who conducted a short training session on general translation. The session covered the significance of translation in the digital age, the challenges inherent in document translation, and effective strategies for overcoming these challenges. Prof. Tagaddeen also provided practical guidance for students on how to improve their translation skills.
Subsequently, Dr. Faisal Aldawli, Head of the Translation Unit, led a training session on translation and translation technology. He explained the types of documents translated at the Center, the difficulties faced by translators, common pitfalls to avoid, and methods for addressing various challenges inherent in the translation process. Dr. Aldawli concluded his session by encouraging all students specializing in translation and languages to visit CCTLT and consider enrolling in the training and professional development courses offered by the Center, which aim to prepare translators for the labor market in various fields of translation and language teaching.
In conclusion, the students expressed their satisfaction with the visit and highlighted the benefits they gained, extending their gratitude to the Center’s administration and staff.
