Field Visit by Media Students‏ ‏from University of Science and Technology ‎to CCTLT‎ Sana’a, Yemen – January 28, 2025‎

As part of its community engagement initiative aimed at training and developing translation ‎‎students from universities across Yemen, as well as enhancing collaboration between Sana’a ‎University and other educational institutions in Yemen, the Community Center for ‎Translation and ‎Language Teaching (CCTLT) at Sana’a University hosted a field visit for students from the Media ‎Department at the University of Science and Technology, ‎accompanied by their instructor Dr. ‎Essam Al-Jubai.‎
Upon arrival, Assoc. Prof. Ibraheem Tagaddeen, Director of the Center; Dr. Abdulwadood ‎Annuzaili, ‎Head of the Translation Department; and Dr. Faisal Al-Dawli, Head of the Translation ‎Unit, warmly ‎welcomed the visiting students. During the visit, a brief training workshop focused on ‎media translation was conducted, in which ‎students explored the significance of media translation ‎in the contemporary landscape of ‎globalization and digital advancement. They were introduced to ‎the key characteristics of media ‎and journalism language, the impact of social media, and the ‎techniques and methodologies ‎employed in media translation.‎
The workshop also addressed the various challenges faced by media translators and strategies for ‎overcoming these difficulties. Students also had the opportunity to visit the Translation Unit and ‎the Language Review and Editing Unit, where they were informed about the translation processes ‎undertaken by the center and the types of documents and media materials it handles.‎
The Center Director highlighted the vital role of CCTLT in ‎supporting ‎students and ‎researchers in translation and language teaching, explaining the Center’s academic and professional training services, and their ‎‎‎potential benefits to students.
At the end of the visit, the students of University of Science and Technology ‎expressed their ‎sincere appreciation ‎to ‎‎the Center’s administration and staff for their hospitality and the valuable ‎learning opportunitues ‎they were offered in the Center.‎
