Field Visit by Translation Students from Saba University to CCTLT Sana’a, Yemen – January 28, 2025

As part of its community engagement initiative aimed at training and developing translation students from universities across Yemen, as well as enhancing collaboration between Sana’a University and other educational institutions in Yemen, the Community Center for Translation and Language Teaching (CCTLT) at Sana’a University hosted a field visit for translation students from Saba University on Tuesday, January 28, 2025.
Upon arrival, Assoc. Prof. Ibraheem Tagaddeen, Director of the Center; Dr. Abdulwadood Annuzaili, Head of the Translation Department; and Dr. Faisal Al-Dawli, Head of the Translation Unit, warmly welcomed the visiting students. The visit provided students with practical insights into the translation process, drawing on the experience of senior translators working in the Center’s Translation Unit.
The training program included brief workshops designed to enhance both theoretical and practical translation skills, focusing on modern translation techniques and methodologies. Then, the students engaged in an interactive Q&A session, exploring various aspects of the translation profession. They were also introduced to various types of documents handled by the translators in the Center, the challenges translators encounter, common translation errors, and strategies for addressing these issues.
Discussions also highlighted the Center’s academic and professional training services and their potential benefits to students. The students were informed about CCTLT vital role in supporting students and researchers in translation and language teaching.
At the end of the visit, the students of Saba University expressed their sincere appreciation to the Center’s administration and staff for their hospitality and the valuable learning opportunity the Center offered to them.
