Arabic Language Unit

Significance of Arabic Language

The Arabic language is the vessel of the Quran and its substance. It is considered the foundation of the first renaissance that shaped Arab-Islamic society and culture. Arabic was the identity and the tongue through which Arabs participated in all fields of life. Those who learned and mastered Arabic well were led and guided to investigate and learn other scientific fields. This has made teaching and learning Arabic a proactive concept in today’s society. Therefore, our country has encouraged teaching and learning Arabic by providing Arabic teaching services in various educational institutions, including Sana’a University. The Arabic Language Unit was established in the Department of Language Teaching in the CCTLT at Sana’a University in 2010, aiming to enhance Arab and Islamic identity and offer courses to develop Arabic language skills for Yemenis and speakers of other languages.
