Students from the Department of Translation at Al-Nasser University benefited from a valuable real-world learning experience today during a field trip to the Community Center for Translation and Language Teaching (CCTLT). The visit, part of the CCTLT’s community outreach program, provided students with practical insights into the professional translation process.
The students were welcomed by the Center’s Director, Prof. Ibraheem Tagaddeen, and the Head of the Translation Unit, Dr. Faisal Al-Dawli. The visit included observation of live translation projects, allowing students to witness professional translators in action. Short workshops focused on modern translation techniques and methodologies were also conducted.
Students gained further insights into the challenges faced by professional translators, including common errors and strategies for overcoming difficulties in translating various document types. The practical experience aimed to bridge the gap between academic learning and the demands of the professional translation market.
The CCTLT regularly hosts training programs and workshops for language and translation students, contributing to the development of Yemen’s translation and language education sector. These initiatives equip aspiring translators with the skills and knowledge necessary to succeed in their studies and professional careers.
