Sana’a University’s CCTLT Hosts Translation Students from Yemen & Gulf University

The Community Center for Translation and Language Teaching (CCTLT) at Sana’a University welcomed today Level-Four students of the Translation Department at Yemen & Gulf University for Science and Technology. The field visit, which included 15 students accompanied by Dr. Mohammed Al-Mahfadi, aimed at enhancing the students’ translation skills through exposure to real-life sessions in translation at CCTLT, strengthening academic collaboration between Sana’a University and private universities, and exchanging expertise in translation and language-teaching fields.
The visiting delegation was received by the Center’s Director, Dr. Ibraheem Tagaddeen, the Head of the Translation Unit, Dr. Faisal Al-Dawli, and the Public Relations Officer, Ms. Saba Al-Arshani, who welcomed the students and provided them with an overview of the Center’s tasks, activities, services, and training programs.
During the visit, students were introduced to the Center’s various activities in foreign language teaching and specialized translation training. They also learned about the Center’s role in developing linguistic competencies and enhancing the skills of learners and professionals.
The program included a tour of the Translation Unit, where students observed document-processing procedures, became acquainted with the nature of the Unit’s work, and learned about the main challenges faced by translators. They were also briefed on the quality assurance standards and procedures followed to ensure accuracy and quality in translation outputs.
Center officials reaffirmed Sana’a University’s commitment to expanding cooperation channels with both public and private universities, in ways that contribute to developing translation programs and improving the quality of educational outcomes and specialized translation services.
This visit forms part of the Center’s broader efforts to provide training, capacity-building, and advisory services to translation students and graduates across various universities, while offering practical application opportunities that align with modern developments and labor-market needs.
