Master's in Translation

The Department of Translation and its Applications (DTA) at the Community Center for Translation and Language Teaching (CCTLT), Sana’a University, is the founding department of the CCTLT, which was established in 2004. Initially known as the Translation Unit, our department was established to fulfill the community’s need for translating documents between Arabic and various other languages.
At the DTA, we have two main units: the Translation Unit and the Postgraduate Studies and Training Unit. The Translation Unit is highly regarded in the Republic of Yemen as the premier provider of translation services. We offer comprehensive translation services for a wide range of documents from all languages into Arabic and vice versa. Our unit holds the distinction of being the only accredited entity by many public and private institutions.
Our work extends beyond document translation to include the translation of books from Arabic into other languages and vice versa. We have a successful track record of translating numerous books. The Translation Unit prides itself on its exceptional staff, which includes professors who are experts in translation and highly qualified translators.
In addition to translation services, the Translation Unit provides linguistic editing and proofreading services for research papers and scientific theses in both Arabic and English.
The Postgraduate Studies Unit offers a Master’s program in Translation as well as a Postgraduate Diploma in Translation program. To date, four batches have successfully graduated from the Master’s program, and twelve batches have completed the Vocational Higher Diploma in Translation. Additionally, eighteen master's theses submitted by graduates of the Master's Program in Translation were successfully defended until 2025–2026.
