Importance of Learning Russian
Russia stands as one of the largest and superpower countries globally and ranks as the second major economic force worldwide. With a speaker base exceeding 280 million individuals, the Russian language holds prominence as one of the most prevalent languages globally. Additionally, it holds the status of one of the United Nations’ six official languages and enjoys recognition as a language of literature, science, medicine, and modern technology.
Learning Russian as a second language has become a popular choice, particularly among students aspiring to study in the Russian Federation and other countries of the former Soviet Union. Furthermore, researchers in scientific, cultural, literary, and artistic fields express keen interest in its study. Additionally, there is a growing demand for Russian language learning among businessmen and traders, both for academic and commercial reasons. Moreover, Russia’s captivating landscapes, historic landmarks, and vibrant culture draw in countless tourists.
Based on this, the Russian Language Unit was inaugurated in the center during the academic year 2016/2017. It provides top-tier Russian language courses delivered by expert instructors utilizing contemporary teaching methods and resources. This program aims to cultivate graduates capable of proficiently utilizing Russian language skills in written and spoken communication across diverse contexts, thus fulfilling the demands of the labor market in academic, commercial, and other domains.
The program was meticulously designed, and the curriculum was chosen to align with the requirements of the students, adhering to the standards set forth by the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
