Turkish Language Unit
The significance of learning the Turkish language is underscored by the rich heritage of the Ottoman civilization and culture, which contributed to spreading the roots of Islamic civilization worldwide. Turkey acts as a bridge connecting the East and the West, and links Eastern and Western civilizations, serving as a convergence point for diverse cultural exchanges. In light of Turkey’s remarkable advancements across various scientific and technological domains, along with its emergence as an economic powerhouse in the Middle East, learning Turkish has become essential for those seeking to pursue their future professional, academic, or commercial endeavors in Turkey.
Turkish stands among the most widely spoken languages today, boasting approximately 220 million speakers worldwide. This surge in its usage has resulted in a growing interest in learning Turkish. Among the primary reasons for learning Turkish in Yemen is students’ interest to join Turkish universities, where Yemeni students need to learn and master Turkish at various proficiency levels to fulfill their social needs during their academic studies. Additionally, numerous traders and businessmen in Yemen opt to engage in commercial activities and investments with Turkey, prompting the necessity to learn Turkish for effective communication with Turkish companies and business institutions.
In the academic year 2016/2017, the CCTLT established the Turkish Language Unit. The unit offers a high-quality Turkish language program tailored to meet the demands of the labor market and adhere to European accreditation standards for language teaching. Staffed by esteemed tutors and instructors, the Unit utilizes cutting-edge Turkish teaching curriculum to equip students with comprehensive language skills, encompassing listening, speaking, reading, and writing, thereby enabling fluent and proficient usage of Turkish across diverse contexts.
