Program Overview:
The PhD program in Accounting aims to provide students with all the scientific knowledge they need within their specific field of specialization. Furthermore, all students will be equipped with the scientific and practical skills necessary to meet the current and future needs of the local and international job market. Students who excel academically will be supported and prepared for further study in their chosen specialization within the PhD program to achieve these goals. The program will rely on a highly qualified teaching staff with advanced academic ranks, utilize modern scientific technologies in research, and employ a student guidance plan to ensure students acquire scientific knowledge within their field of specialization. Continuous emphasis will be placed on applied research as a fundamental part of graduation requirements. Ongoing monitoring and periodic review will be conducted to keep abreast of the latest studies in accounting and auditing, ensuring students remain up-to-date with ongoing scientific and global developments. In addition, students will participate in scientific seminars and stay informed about modern accounting and auditing theories to enhance their expertise, abilities, and scientific and practical capabilities.

The program aime to achieve the flowing objectives:
Enhance students’ knowledge of fundamental concepts and theories in accounting.
Develop and enhance students’ research capabilities and practical skills in accounting.
Employ high-quality, innovative teaching methods that keep pace with the latest advancements.
Foster students’ analytical, creative, and critical thinking skills.
Develop students’ skills in accounting-related technologies.
Enhance students’ ability to integrate theoretical and practical accounting knowledge and skills.
Develop students’ skills in using scientific research tools to prepare and present reports and studies to decision-makers in governmental, financial, and private sector institutions.
PhD thesis:
The student must prepare and discuss the doctoral dissertation project for (42) credit hours.

4. Serving as consultants and specialists in various ministries, agencies, and government companies.

Admission Requirements:
The student must hold a master’s degree from a recognized university in accounting, or a master’s degree in internal auditing and risk management with a “Good” grade.
Additionally, the student must obtain a certificate of proficiency in English from the Language Center at the University of Sana’a and demonstrate proficiency in computer skills from the Computer Center at the University of Sana’a during their study period.
Supplementary Admission Requirements for the Program:
Please provide the following supplementary requirements for admission to the program when submitting your application:
1. Application fee of 20,000 Yemeni rials (non-refundable).
2. Master’s degree certificate and transcript certified by the Ministry of Higher Education (original).
3. Bachelor’s degree certificate and transcript certified by the Ministry of Higher Education (original).
4. Equivalency certificate stamped by the Ministry of Higher Education for graduates of non-Yemeni universities (original).
5. A copy of the national ID card or passport.
6. Eight personal photographs with a white background (4×6 cm).
Tuition fees:
The study fees for the program are 1,500,000 Yemeni rials, which include the costs of supervision and thesis defense, and can be paid in installments.
The duration of study in the program ranges from a minimum of two years to a maximum of four years.
