Orientation Session for New MA Students at the Department of Translation
On Wednesday, September 4, 2024, the Department of Translation, represented by Dr. Mujeeb Qasim, Head of Department, organized an orientation session for students enrolled in the Pre-Master Translation program. The session was attended by Dr. Abbas Mutahar, Vice Dean for Graduate Studies, and Dr. Najat Al-Baadani, Department Rapporteur.
The session commenced with a welcoming address by Dr. Abbas Mutahar, who provided a general overview of the Master’s program, starting from the Pre-Master’s courses, the process of developing research proposals, and culminating in the final thesis defense. Then, Dr. Mujeeb Qasim emphasized the importance of achieving the program’s objectives and stressed the need for continuous self-study and regular translation practice to enhance students’ professional skills.
Dr. Najat Al-Badani then offered additional guidance on ways to enhance personal and professional skills, and underscored the students’ role in achieving academic excellence through active engagement in various activities and academic assignments offered by the teaching staff.
The session concluded with an open discussion, during which students’ questions were answered and all aspects related to the program and study requirements were clarified. This valuable opportunity allowed students to gain a deeper understanding of the program and the academic and professional expectations that await them.
