Translation Department at Faculty of Languages Organizes Field Visit for Third-Year Students to Sana’a University’s CCTLT

The Translation Department at the Faculty of Languages, Sana’a University, organized a field visit on Monday, 2 Rajab 1447 AH (corresponding to 22 December 2025), for third-year students to the University’s Community Center for Translation and Language Teaching (CCTLT). The visit, which included included forty students, targeted the Translation Service Unit at the center.
The visit, which comes as part of the scientific and practical activities implemented by the Translation Department, aimed to familiarize students with the realities of professional practice in the field of translation and to strengthen the link between theoretical study and practical application.
During the visit, students met with the Director of the Center, Dr. Ibrahim Tagaddeen, the Head of the Translation Unit, Dr. Faisal Al-Dwali, and the Public Relations Officer, Ms. Saba Al-Arshani. They welcomed the students and delivered an introductory presentation on the center’s tasks, services, and various training programs.
The program also included participation in a training workshop on general translation, its techniques and methods, as well as ways of employing electronic tools and artificial intelligence technologies in the field of translation. In addition, students were introduced to the center’s activities in language teaching and the specialized training programs it offers.
Students further toured the Translation Service Unit, where they were briefed on workflow procedures, mechanisms for handling translated documents, the types of services provided to the community, and the kinds of documents processed on a daily basis, in addition to the main challenges faced by translators in the professional environment.
Third-year students of the Translation Department expressed the importance of the visit to enhancing their practical experience and developing their professional skills in translation, praising the center’s role in training and qualifying university students.
This visit comes within the Translation Department’s commitment at the Faculty of Languages to organizing applied field activities and engaging with specialized centers, contributing to the development of students’ skills and preparing them for the labor market in the fields of translation and language teaching.
