Faculty of Languages Council Approves Unified Undergraduate Curricula and Addresses Key Academic Resolutions

SANA’A— The Faculty of Languages Council at Sana’a University held its first regular meeting for the 2026/2027 academic year. The session was chaired by Dr. Mohammed Ahmed Al-Nasser, the Faculty Dean, and attended by council members and department chairs to review key items on the academic and administrative agenda.

At the outset of the meeting, the Council reviewed and approved the unified undergraduate curriculum frameworks for various departments, as endorsed by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. Necessary revisions and updates were incorporated to align the academic tracks with modern quality assurance benchmarks and current job market demands.

In an effort to bolster scientific research and graduate studies, the Council approved the defense results of several doctoral dissertations and master’s theses. Furthermore, it approved new research proposals and formed defense and viva-voce committees for graduate students across the Arabic, English, Translation, and French departments.

On the administrative front, the Council reviewed departmental budgets for the new academic year and passed a series of resolutions regarding academic appointments, contract extensions, and sabbaticals for faculty members and teaching assistants. Additionally, several student petitions were reviewed and referred to competent university authorities for final processing.

The meeting concluded with a discussion on student affairs and miscellaneous agenda items, reinforcing the Faculty of Languages’ commitment to ongoing academic modernization and high-quality educational outcomes to maintain Sana’a University’s standing as a leading institution of higher education.
