Master’s Thesis Proposal Seminar for Ms. Haifa Muftah

Department of Translation at the Faculty of Languages, Sana’a University, successfully convened a research seminar to discuss the Master’s thesis proposal submitted by Ms. Haifa Ali Ahmed Muftah.
Her research, titled “The Historian-Translator in Deconstructing the Virtualized Orientalist Discourse on Yemen: Yemen and the Western World Since 1571”.
The viva-voce committee consists of:
- Prof. Mujeeb Ali Qasem
- Prof. Abbas Abdulmalik Mutahar
- Prof. Ibraheem Nagi Tagaddeen
- Prof. Abdulwadood Ahmed Annuzaili
- Najat Ali Al-Badani
During the session, the candidate presented a comprehensive overview of her scientific plan. She outlined the study’s primary objectives, emphasizing its significance in the field of translation studies. The presentation covered the theoretical framework, methodology, hypotheses as well as analytical tools to be employed.
Following an in-depth discussion and rigorous scholarly exchange, the committee formally approved the research plan. The members praised the candidate’s efforts and highlighted the significance of the topic to the field of translation studies.
The seminar was well-attended by graduate students, faculty members, and researchers specialized in linguistics and translation.
